Pediatric Oral Surgery

In South Florida, the Atlantic Center of Aesthetic & Reconstructive Surgery offers comprehensive surgical care for the teeth and jaws. The Atlantic Center Surgery doctors specialize in oral abnormalities that commonly affect children as they grow.

Aided by cutting-edge diagnostics and nuclear scanning, Dr. Stelnicki and the Atlantic Center Surgery doctors are able to quickly and accurately identify diseases and disorders that may be reducing your child’s ability to comfortably eat, drink, speak, or breathe.

Our pediatric oral surgeons utilize the latest state-of-the-art treatments for a variety of dental conditions. They perform surgery on facial bones and the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) as well.

At the Atlantic Center, we offer the following surgical procedures:

  • Cleft palate correction
  • Bone grafting
  • Frenectomy
  • Orthognathic (jaw) surgery
  • Oral pathology
  • Facial trauma surgery
  • Jaw surgery

Whenever possible, our oral surgeons use minimally invasive procedures to reduce recovery time and time spent in the operating room.

Want to see your child smile beautifully with confidence and no pain? For an oral surgery consultation with one of our board-certified surgeons, call (954) 983-1899 or request an appointment online at one of our South Florida locations: Ft. Lauderdale, Pembroke Pines and Boynton Beach.

Virtual Surgical Planning (VSP) Orthognathics

Virtual Surgical Planning provides data in order to accurately plan surgery in a computerized, digital atmosphere, with customized 3D printed surgical tools and guides. Then takes both of the VSP knowledge and surgical tools to the physical surgical operation with the results of advanced outcomes. It is a more precise, automatically based surgical simulation method.

Dr. Eric Stelnicki, M.D. is the first craniofacial surgeon to use VSP Orthognathics in the state of Florida for treatment of complex jaw deformities related to craniofacial disorders, while the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital is the first Craniofacial Center to use VSP computer-generated modeling plates. Notably, he is also the pioneer of this Craniofacial Center.

Pediatric Oral Surgeons in Ft. Lauderdale, Pembroke Pines, and Boynton Beach, FL

The patient's that Dr. Stelnicki performed jaw surgery on with VSP Orthognathics were all diagnosed with Craniofacial Microsomia (CFM), also known as Hemifacial Microsomia. CFM describes a vast array of abnormalities that affect the skull's development before birth. Individuals with this possess a facial anatomy of reduced growth, resulting in various degrees of craniofacial asymmetry that only progresses over time.
